Family Promise is a nonprofit organization committed to helping low-income families achieve lasting independence. The problem of poverty is complex. It won’t yield to a simple solution or a quick fix. It requires an integrated approach that begins with meeting immediate needs but reaches much further to help people achieve independence and to alleviate the root causes of poverty.
200th Family to Graduate!
Kisha, Rebecca, Patience and Brian came into our program 10/22/2015. They moved into Salvation Army Transitional Housing 02/01/16, and had just gotten settled in when along came their newborn, Chamyri. This is an Email we received from Kisha shortly afterward: “I am so happy and blessed. I just love the support I’m getting from you guys at Family Promise. That’s all I ever really needed was some support. I feel like I can do anything. I’m confident, I’m happy with where I am in life as well as where I am going. I have Kim, Kelly, and Marsha, along with all the volun- teers to thank for assisting me in get- ting here. Mentally I’m stable and I don’t have to fear the unknown. I’m just full of joy and faith. I know that everything is going to be alright.”
Jerry, Michelle, Jacob, and Zachary – Are very happy in their new home at Salvation Army transitional housing. With Jerry back to work, children loving their school, all is good, “thanks to Family Promise.”
